Picking the loom.

When I decided last summer that I was looking for a loom I came across rigid heddle looms. There are many choices available and three or four that are considered most popular. Right when I was ready to buy the Ashford Knitters loom which is portable and made for thicker yarns than normal rigid heddles (you can't usually use chenille with them) was very popular. I liked the heddle options with bigger yarns, but didn't know how often I'd fold it up to be portable and I knew I wanted more than the twelve inch width. The Kromski Harp was also very popular but it's main attraction is it has a built in warping board, I was more comfortable using the peg technique.

I went with the Ashford Rigid Heddle, it is 24 inches wide and can be used with a peg or your own warping board. It came with a heddle that accomodates 7.5 ends per inch and thick novelty yarns. I also bought a 12.5 end per inch heddle that is great for light weight yarns.

As always, questions, just ask.
