Disaster struckWhile I was working on the red and gold log cabin scarf my cat jumped on the loom, breaking about half of the warp threads. I had 12 inches woven, so I just tied it off and am going to tie it around my christmas tree trunk. I've now warped up a baby blanket. I warped it the full 24 inch width but with pull in it is weaving at 21 inches. I will weave it to 32 inches long and then knot the fringe. The yarns are a baby pink bamboo (bambu 7) and a light green rayon. Both are doubled throughout warp and weft. In the warp the borders are pink, then an inch of green, three inches of log cabin, another inch of green, a large expanse of pink, and repeat the pattern. The weft is similar. Today I had the idea of making all of my holiday ribbons. I have black, red, and gold rayon, I'll get some dark green. I'm going to use this as a way to practice warp faced weaving, leno lace, finishing edges, and obviously color patterns.
