Sarah Knits and Weaves

First, I'm knitting a scarf. A basic seed stitch scarf, nearly 12 inches wide, on size 3 needles. It's "boy" colors, black, blue, green, and grey. No I don't have an intended recipient, I'm trying to pass it off to a friend to give to her brother or boyfriend. It's very pretty, and fun to do, even if the needles are so small and it is so wide! Yeah I'm crazy.

I thought I would write up a list of sheep breeds I've used fiber from and a short review.

A few definitions
Top is fibers that have been lined up on combs, with the short fibers cleaned out. Commercial top is a step in the line to making commercial yarn, hand done top is done on combs and not in a factory situation.

Thanks to all those who came to the Bloomington Spinners and weavers guild sale this weekend. My sales appear to have beaten last years record and it was another success. I will try to finish photographing on Monday the 10th, anything left over will be placed in the sales gallery until Thanksgiving. After Thanksgiving my products are going to a sale at the Richmond, IN co-op.

23rd Annual Fiber Art Show and Sale

I will have many purses, scarves, handspun yarn and silk fiber for sale. My mom will have felted holiday pins and wool cat toys. Others may have rugs, blankets, scarves, hats, and many other fiber art products. Can't wait to see you there.
